Quality Control Technologist — Power Equipment

Company/Division: Eaton’s ES AMER ESS | Location: Oakleys Dr, Richmond, VA

Pay & Shift: $22.71/hr + $2.00/hr shift differential | 10:00 PM–6:30 AM | Sign-on: $2,000 (eligibility applies)

What you’ll do

• Inspect parts and finished goods; document findings; isolate Non-Conforming (NC) material
• Perform root cause analysis and drive corrective actions
• Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI) across production lines
• Execute control and process audits per schedule
• Prepare and present reports using Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
• Issue Quality Alerts and brief operators on issues and containment
• Investigate NC product using structured problem-solving methods
• Support pre-production quality: Quality Assembly documents, product/process reviews, and training for production teams
• Partner with Manufacturing Engineering on capability studies (new and existing machines)
• Maintain/support the Gage Calibration System
• Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental requirements

What you bring Basic

• High School Diploma or GED (accredited)
• Local candidate (within 50 miles); relocation not offered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographic limitation.

Preferred

• Proficiency reading drawings and electrical schematics
• Associate degree in electronics, electrical engineering technology, or similar technical field
• ASQ Quality Technician certification
• 3–5 years as a Quality Technician (power sector preferred)
• Lean and Six Sigma experience
• Statistical Process Control know-how
• Understanding of delta–wye 3-phase transformers and resistive load bank technology

Physical demands & hiring process

• Ability to sit, stand, and walk regularly; lift up to 50 lbs during the shift
• May require stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, reaching, pushing, and pulling
• Recruitment may include video and on-site interviews
