Certified Dog Trainer

Are you a certified dog trainer who loves helping dogs build confidence and teaching pet parents how to support their success? Dogtopia of Sacramento – Nimbus Winery is looking for a knowledgeable, enthusiastic trainer to join our team!

We’re seeking someone who uses positive reinforcement, communicates clearly, and enjoys working with dogs of different breeds, sizes, and personalities.

What You’ll Do

• Conduct training consultations to understand each dog’s needs and the pet parent’s goals.
• Develop personalized training plans focused on obedience, manners, socialization, and confidence.
• Lead training sessions using positive reinforcement techniques.
• Teach pet parents practical skills to continue training at home.
• Document progress and provide clear updates and recommendations.
• Work with our daycare team to reinforce appropriate behaviors and support a safe, positive environment.
• Introduce pet parents to training services and help grow our training program.
• Recognize behavioral concerns and communicate when a dog’s needs fall outside your scope of training.

What We’re Looking For

• Current dog training certification from a recognized organization.
• Hands-on experience training dogs and coaching pet parents.
• Strong understanding of canine body language, behavior, and safe handling.
• Commitment to humane, positive reinforcement training methods.
• Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with our team.
• A dependable, patient, and professional approach.

Compensation

This position offers $20 per hour in base pay, plus commission on training services . Commission structure and earning opportunities will be discussed during the interview process.
